While working with 4H children, Colton helped to win the individual title at the California State Fair, the covited Golden Bear award. He did this TWICE, once in showmanship and once in obedience with his friend Heather Roberts who also took him to his AKC High in Trial. Heather also handled him to his last AKC confirmation win by taking the 7 to 10 year old Veteran class at the ARC supported regional specialty at Del Valle KC. He was also in many parades and 4H gatherings in Northern California and help many children learn to enjoy training dogs.  His last event was helping in the Master Showmanship competition at the California State Fair.  In two days of competition, 70 children from the ages of 8 to 18 handled him in competition.  He did this at the age of 10 and only 6 months before he passed away.
